Desexing or Neutering
Desexing or neutering your cat or dog is a common procedure we perform on a regular basis. This will prevent your pet from being able to reproduce or get pregnant. Generally, pets are desexed between 4 and 6 months, however, if your pet is older this is fine. For females, we encourage to desex between heat cycles as this makes the procedure less complicated.
Reasons to desexing your pet include:
Preventing unwanted litters.
Prevention of cancers, both in males and females.
Stop the “heat” cycle in females
Reduces aggressive behaviours, especially in males
Your pet will be less prone to wander.
Living a longer and healthier life
Reduction of council registration fees
